Leon is Reborn's shapeshifting animal partner, and can physically transform himself into a multitude of objects seen throughout the Katekyō Hitman Reborn! series. By transforming into a green gun, he becomes Reborn's main weapon in the anime adaptation. He is mostly seen resting on Reborn's fedora.
Appearance

Leon is a green chameleon with a slender and somewhat flat body. He has four identical appearing legs of similar length to one another which are at an angle to support his body. Leon also notably has a long coiled tail. On either side of his large oval shaped head, Leon has yellow reptilian eyes which are orange in the upper centre. Unlike a chameleon's, Leon's possesses vertical slit pupils. His wide smile appears happy, and Leon has a long ballistic tongue that is visible very rarely. His two small nostrils, along with with mouth and eyes are usually the only visible features of Leon's when he changes form into inanimate objects.

Content to remain ever-present on Reborn's head, Leon is also ready to partake in whatever plan is at hand. Interestingly when Reborn is doing something like sleeping Leon will do the same thing as Reborn. He is the tool that Reborn and Tsuna use the most in difficult situations. He was the one that created Tsuna's wool mittens in order to fight Mukuro.
Synopsis
History
A chameleon, Leon has this in common with the one Reborn kept when in his human form. When Reborn was still training Dino to become the boss of the Cavallone Famiglia, Leon created Dino's signature bullwhip and Enzo.
Daily Life Arc
With Reborn in Italy, he is to head with him to Japan. Accompanying Reborn, he is present when interacting with Tsunayoshi Sawada who is to become the next boss of the Vongola. His appearance is significantly picked up upon when Reborn introduces him as a form memorizing chameleon. Leon had displayed as much in his form change to that of a smaller Reborn.
Kokuyo Arc
Creating the X-Gloves.
During the attacks on Namimori Middle School students, Leon's tail falls off before he then begins to change forms uncontrollably. He eventually spins a cocoon, indicating that Reborn's student, Tsuna, will go through a life-or-death battle.
Leon eventually emerges from the cocoon, along with the newly created X-Gloves in its mitten form. The Criticism Shot is also made.
Varia Arc
Leon created threads that are resistant to Dying Will Flames. These threads were used before the Sky Ring Battle to make clothes for Tsuna that looked like his school uniform.
Choice Arc
Before the Choice battle with the Millefiore's Six Funeral Wreaths, the Flame-resistant threads were used to make black suits for all of the tenth generation Vongola Guardians.
Abilities
Despite his small size, Leon is durable and resistant to strong attacks. He was able to defend against the attacks made by Tsuna and his Guardians and even deal serious damage during Reborn's trial. Leon can also create objects such as threads from inside himself.
Known shapeshifting forms
Leon is able to change his form into anything that he has seen before.[2]
- Gun - Reborn uses this as his main weapon in the anime. Reborn also uses this to shoot Tsuna with the Dying Will Bullet or the Criticism Shot.
- Chaos Shot - Leon, while in gun form, shoots an extremely powerful burst of Sun Flames. The shot can act as a homing missile or even split into several Chaos Shots at will.
- Camouflage - Leon is able to transform into his surroundings, and enables Reborn to conceal his presence.
- Cell phone - Leon is able to transform into a cell phone, and allows Reborn to call mafia or other people.
Turbo Leon Car
- Body changing - Leon is also able to change into a person's face.
- Magnifying glass - Leon can transform into a magnifying glass and allows Reborn to see the target's personality.
- Parachute - Leon can transform into a parachute that allows Reborn to float.
- Infrared goggles - Leon can transform into a pair of infrared goggles.
- Slipper - Leon can transform into a green slipper.
- Jutte - Leon can transform into a mini jutte.
- Hammer - Leon can transform into a green hammer w/ a red stripe and the handle is red too.
- Turbo Leon ball/Car - Leon can transform into a rounded-shape ball and a fast car.
- Ninja's headband - Leon can transform into a ninja's headband.
- Dowsing rods - Leon can transform into a pair of dowsing rods.
- Octopus - Leon can transform into an octopus.
- Totem pole - Leon can transform into a totem pole.
- Computer screen - Leon can transform into a computer screen.
- Tennis Racket - Leon can transform into a tennis racket.
- Osonae mochi - Leon can transform into an osonae mochi.
- Rice cooker - Leon can transform into a rice cooker.
- Rose - Leon can transform into a rose.
- Kabob - Leon can transform into a kabob.
- Fish - Leon can transform into a fish.
- Ocarina - Leon can transform into an ocarina.
- Futa - Leon can transform into a miniature Futa.

- Rope - Leon can transform into a long piece of rope.
- Comb - Leon can transform into a comb.
- Hand fan - Leon can transform into a hand fan.
- Box of chocolate - Leon can transform into a box of chocolate.
- Mask - Leon can transform into a mask.
- Spy glasses - Leon can transform into spy glasses that can see hidden lasers.
- Steel Serpent Ball - Leon can transform into Lancia's Steel Serpent Ball and can also use Violent Snake Fierce Domination.
- Reverse One Ton Mallet - Although only shown in the anime for comedic purposes, in the manga, Reborn claims that the Reverse One Ton Mallet is a weapon that only he can use. Reborn can lift and swing this weapon around as if it were as light as a feather. If Reborn hits someone with it, their Dying Will Flames will be extinguished. It can also be used as a normal weapon.
- Reflect Mirror - Leon can transform into a Mirror that reflects any type of Flame that hits it.[3]
- Hot air balloon:[4] Leon transforms into a hot air balloon that allows Reborn to be transported by air. Its balloon has Leon's eyes and facial color on it, as well as a small basket for a baby of Reborn's size to ride in it.
- Hang glider:[5] Leon transforms into a hang glider that offers an alternate form of air transportation for Reborn.

- In the anime, Reborn uses Leon as his gun, but in the manga, he uses real guns.
- In Futa's ranking, Leon was ranked number #1 in Tsuna's love ranking. In the manga, there was a picture of Leon sitting on Tsuna's head while Tsuna said about Futa: "He surprised me".
